To avoid getting performance issues with Outlook it is recommended follow all below as a practices which helps Outlook to perform better

  1. Disable all unused Plug-Ins
  2. Stay updated with all recent patches
  3. Plan folder structure properly
  4. Plan Inbox rules
  5. Inbox Management has become more important to get best performance
  6. Store frequent contacts
  7. Use Distribution Group always for bulk sending
  8. Never use shared drive for PST (Personal Folder)
  9. Meeting resource always update instead of delete & recreate
  10. Plan your delegates
  11. Recurring always make it 6 months as a recommended practice
